Amitabh Bachchan Issues Apology for Mispronouncing Marathi in Old Video: ‘Thanks to Sudesh Bhosale’

Amitabh Bachchan greeted his followers with folded hands and shared a new video with the correct pronunciation

On Thursday, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan expressed regret to his followers on social media for posting a video a few days prior that mispronounced a Marathi term. He said that legendary vocalist Sudesh Bhosale caught the error and corrected it in a recent video that he released.

A few days prior, Big B posted a video to his Instagram account in which he made a commitment to not leave trash lying around the streets. He said in the video, “Mi kachra karnaar nahi,” in Marathi.

Social media users commended the actor for raising awareness, and the video garnered millions of likes and views. Afterwards, the actor appeared to realize that he had mispronounced a few words in the video.

He posted the same commitment in a video on Instagram on Thursday, and this time, he fixed his error. “I recently produced a video titled ‘Main kachra nahi karunga’.” I had said the same thing in Marathi, but I had mispronounced the word “kachra.” I’ve learned the word and am remaking the video with the proper pronunciation after my friend Sudesh Bhosale pointed out that I mispronounced it.
